The
sculpture I am proposing will be based on the play of tension
and light that exists between two opposing, yet interconnected
unit forms. The interaction of these forms symbolize the primitive
mythology of the Uroboros, or "... the perfect state
of being, in which opposites are contained...the primal creative
element..."(Newman, The Origins and History of Consciousness,
p.9)
Uroboros, black granite/ wood/cement, 1.5'w x 1.5'd x 5.5'h,
2002.
