When
man makes a choice is he attempting to exert control on nature?
The choice to preserve life and beauty for the next generation
is a valid position. Whenever choices are made they insert
changes into the system which influence its course of evolution.
Ultimately choice determines fate. Life is short; choose wisely.
The
installation, Lamentations of Impermanence,
consists of three doors, three path choices. The images within
the door frames are translucent because the consequences of
a choice are not always clear at the time of decision. It
is only in hindsight that one is able to discern its effect.
The
refrigerator represents preservation; placed horizontally
it is fate.
The wings in the tree are the perceived beauty of nature.
The binoculars represent awareness.
