 Line
Farm is a working agricultural landscape. A nine acre
hayfield surrounds the house which once served as the
haybarn for the property. A large pond interrupts the
stone wall that separates the field from the five acre
lower pasture. There is an island in the middle of the
pond. The upper pasture, also five acres, is accessed
by a farm road through the hayfield that climbs up past
the old sugarhouse. The height of land, about 850',
commands a view east southeast down the Ottauquechee
Valley. Jersey heifers graze in the pastures. They are
curious and will likely gather when sculptures are being
installed. Because of the cows, no dogs are allowed
on the site. The land is bounded by streams, woods,
the Cloudland Road and the Woodstock / Pomfret town
line, hence the place name.
