Sculpture
Fest 2002, Inbalance/Imbalance, continues with an opening
at Line Farm, 4408 Cloudland Road in Woodstock, from
3 - 6 PM on Saturday, August 31. Twenty new sculptures
created by twenty-two artists will be installed in a
rural setting of hayfield, pond and pasture. Prior year
artists will be joined by seven new participants from
Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. The work will explore
many aspects of being in or out of balance: the tension
of different materials, harmony and opposition of form,
the effect of the past on the present and our relationship
with the environment.
The
artists include Peter Blodgett, Bill Botzow, Seth Callander,
Barbara Cieslicki, Mireille Clapp, Edith Crocker, Charlet
Davenport, Alisa Dworsky, Kira Fournier, Kato and Fred
Guggenheim, Kit Hawkins, Linda Hoffman, Kristen Judkins,
Barbara Kaufman, Stephen Schaum. Valorie Sheehan, Li
Shen, Jeffrey Simpson, Ronni Solbert, Mare Vaccaro and
Handy Wade.
Sculpture
Fest 2002, part I, can be visited at the Davenport site
on Prosper Road in Woodstock, where Madeleine Lord and
Joe Hallowell are featured this year.
Please
check the web site (www.sculpturefest.org) for details
about the locations and specific artists. Both shows
will stay open through foliage season. The Line Farm
location will be open Wednesday through Sunday, noon
until 6 PM.
