"Nature Contained" 2001, stone, steel, wood, water

"I cannot help thinking that this sculpture, in which the natural elements of stone, wood and water are bound by man-made steel, is some sort of metaphor for the state of our environment. Human actions to tame the landscape, whether for agriculture or for pleasure, leave nature's web impoverished and fragmented. We contain and preserve its vestiges."
