"The birds were the first to emerge--forms flocking to a sacred place. The context came the afternoon the radio recounted the bombing of the U.N. Peacekeeping headquarters in Baghad—captured 'live' on tape. Talking. Explosion. Light punctured by the darkness. 'Flock' is in honor of those people throughout the world who devote their lives to waging peace."
