Sculpture Fest, the annual outdoor sculpture exhibition at the Davenport's on Prosper Road, Woodstock, Vermont will open on Saturday, September 4 from four to seven with a reception for the artists.
The community is invited to come to the opening, meet the artists, view the sculpture, and bring a picnic to enjoy on the hill.
The title of this year's exhibit is Beyond Boundaries. The two featured artists are NH artist Mary Mead and VT artist Herb Ferris. The video "Powers of Bush" by Matt Bucy which has been so popular at the Cooler Gallery in WRJct will also be on exhibit (no longer in the Cooler but in the Kiln Shed video space).
A new sculpture (a Buddha) by Barbara Kaufman which is destined for the collection of Skidmore College will be previewed at Sculpture Fest. In addition there will be work by more than twenty artists on site.
Children are always welcome. School groups may contact Charlet Davenport 457-1178 for special tours if desired.
The exhibition will continue through foliage and will be open daily from dawn to dusk.
